Did you know Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia besides East Timor? The Portuguese ruled Philippines for more than 300 years to be followed by the Americans for another 48 years, both leaving a strong western influence but even then Filipinos are quite Asian and maintain their roots and culture mixed with these western influences. 

English is widely spoken in Philippines and is one of the official languages which helps tourists navigate better. Tourist infrastructure and infrastructure in general is improving and increasing on the smaller or less commercialized islands at a rapid pace. Philippines maynot be the most developed when it comes to tourism but it sure is one of the best island countries we have visited with so much to offer its visitors; After all It’s more fun in the Philippines!
